Interior Detailing after Winter
For some parts of the country during this time of the year, snow and ice are a concern for both drivers of vehicles and the vehicles themselves. Especially in the northeast part of the country, snow is a regular part of winter life. And speaking as people who have experience living in snow country, we know it is almost impossible not to get snow, dirt and salt inside the interior of a daily driven car. For those families that have kids, it is even more difficult to keep the interior parts of a car clean. Winter is one of those seasons that reminds us car lovers how important it is to have a clean interior. In order to achieve this though, you need to have a few tricks up your sleeve in the interior detailing department. Cleaning interiors can seem like a very daunting task, especially if you are cleaning a car that has been through a winter storm or two.
As a general tip during the winter months, we recommend getting some rubber floor mats, preferably those that have high sides that prevent water from spilling out onto the carpets. The more dirt and moisture these rubber mats can hold, the cleaner your interior carpets will stay. Especially for families with kids, it helps if everyone makes an effort to bring as little snow and dirt into the car as possible. We recommend knocking the extra snow off your shoes as much as possible before entering the car. The reality is that no matter how hard you may try, you simply cannot prevent all of the dirt and water from getting in the interior. That’s why it’s important to have some good detailing product and tools to take care of your interior when it comes time to.
Spring cleaning can mean a lot of different things. But in the car world, to us it means giving your car a thorough detailing inside and out. Liquid Glow car care products has an all in one Interior Cleaner and Protectant that can handle all the needs of an interior in any vehicle. Unlike other products, not only is Liquid Glow’s Interior Cleaner and Protectant safe for all surfaces in the vehicle, it is both a cleaning product and a protectant in one bottle, so you only need to do one step. Liquid Glow Interior Cleaner & Protectant cleans light soil and dirt while rejuvenating all types of surfaces in a vehicle. Because it’s solvent free it’s safe for leather, plastic, rubber and vinyl. It also restores natural color and luster to all interior surfaces. For some vehicles that are extremely dirty, or that have soiled seats or severe carpet stains, you may need to revert to a more aggressive cleanser. After that step though, our product will do wonders to your interior surfaces.
Let’s start with seats. There are many types of materials used in the manufacturing of seats over the last few decades. Thankfully, Liquid Glow’s product can be used on most types of seating surfaces without worry. Surprisingly, unlike most other interior protectants you can apply ours to leather safely and with great results. Because there are no petroleum distillates in Liquid Glow Interior Cleaner & Protectant it will not damage leather. Instead, our interior protectant feeds and nourishes vinyl, plastic, rubber, and leather. It leaves behind a dry, non-greasy, satin finish. And the best part is, when it dries it guards those surfaces against the sun’s damaging UV rays, and repels dirt and grime. Of course you want to vacuum as much dirt and dust from the carpets and seating surfaces as possible before applying any interior product. When cleaning your vinyl or leather seats, you will want to use a small microfiber cloth or towel. Depending on how dirty the seats are, you may also want to use a soft brush to work in the product more thoroughly. After applying the product to the cleaning cloth and working into the seat, take a clean microfiber and begin bringing the excess product and dirt away from the material. You may want to use a damp cloth if you have trouble getting it all out of the seat. In the case of leather seats, soft brushes are recommended. It is not recommended to use rough bristled brushes or scrubbing pads as the rough material may damage your leather. A microfiber cloth should be sufficient to clean and nourish your leather seats. We recommend using a couple different sets of cloths or towels when doing the interior. Depending on the level of dirtiness in your vehicle, you’ll want to use a couple sets of towels for seats, dash and interior surfaces and also for the door panels, one to clean and one to dry.
When cleaning the door panels and sills, it’s important to use the right amount of product. A little goes a long way. You don’t want to be overloading your cloth so much that all the product won’t soak into the surface. For one thing it’s a waste of high quality product, and it’s also more work to remove it. We’re not saying though that you use so little that you can’t reach all the surfaces with the product. Use enough that it covers the whole area without being excessive. Again, use one cloth to apply the Cleaner and Protectant and a new cloth to remove it. Make sure not to miss areas like seat belts, door handles, small buttons on the dash, window switches and door locks. Try to get as many surfaces as possible to ensure maximum protection of the interior. In hard to clean areas like air vents, use a cotton swab to get those small spaces inside the air vents that get clogged with dirt and dust. Based on individual preference, you might want to give the steering wheel a quick wipe down to cleanse the dirt and oils that are released from hands. Some people are weary of doing this because certain products leave a slippery film behind and that can become a safety hazard if it prevents the driver from holding the steering wheel properly. Thankfully the Liquid Glow Interior Cleaning and Protectant does not leave a film behind. Unlike other interior products, you won’t need to worry about greasy, slippery surfaces because our product leaves behind a dry, premium satin finish and protects against UV rays while repelling dust and dirt.
It is important to have an interior that is comfortable and clean to spend your time driving in. Liquid Glow’s Interior Cleaner and Protectant is all about pampering yourself and your car. And with our one step process, you will be thrilled with how easy it is bring back that new car look and protect interior surfaces against UV damage.
